Case history: National Australia Bank
Brief: 3 hour (all morning!) energiser to wake up, unite and give a bit of fun to 200 delegates from around the UK at the start of a 3 day conference. Mixed gender and age.
Venue: Harrogate Majestic Hotel
Performance: This was the longest one off energiser ever requested, and was broken into three distinct parts to prevent repetition or tiredness…! It started with the delegates being divided into five groups and playing different types of musical instrument distributed around the perimeter of the room for the first hour. Then, after the coffee break each group went to a breakout room with a drummer, where they learned a rhythm. Once they had returned to the conference auditorium, each group came on to the stage to perform their piece. The rhythms were based on cultural rhythms from around the world, and the rest of the delegates were taught a song and dance to accompany each rhythm, with African kick dancing, Japanese karate and Kodo, Egyptian belly dancing (always a highlight!), Australian Koala dance accompanying 20 didgeridoos, and a Brazilian carnival finale complete with limbo…
