Case history: Canon Europe
Brief: 2 hour session for 80 delegates at quarterly department meeting just outside Amsterdam. To have a fun activity at the end, which could link in with communications, creativity and innovation. Event theme – "Achieving Harmony within the Supply Chain Division"
Venue: Amsteldeen Bowling Centre, Holland
Performance: A wide variety of drums, percussion instruments and fun world music instruments were taken over to Amsterdam. The session started with the ice breaking warm up, followed by the delegates all playing drums for a tribal groove. They then rotated around the room having a turn on all the different types of instrument. Boomwhackers were used in the middle to re-create the Close Encounters theme used at the Canon UK conference, and the session ended with everyone playing a drum, singing an African chant and dancing an African dance! Communication, creativity and harmony were highlighted throughout.
Feedback "I had lots of very positive comments about the event and also your enthusiasm in engaging the attendees. The most common comment was 'That was great fun and completely different from what we expected!'" Paul Clapham, European Parts Operation Director, Canon Europe
