Case history: EDF
Brief: To create a one hour energetic and uplifting end to a day long conference for 120 people, but with no singing or dancing! The event to be a surprise and to take place in the conference room with delegates sat around tables.
Venue: Wotton House Conference Centre
Performance: Armed with 20 large drums, 20 small drums, 20 fruit shakers, 20 boomwhackers and 20 assorted instruments including didgeridoos and washboards, during the afternoon tea break Mark and his team sneaked the instruments in. When the guests returned they were greeted by a stage full of the big drums and the sight of everything else around the room. After the usual ice breaking warm up they were divided into five groups, assigned to a set of instruments and the music began. During the hour the guests moved around the room so that they had a turn on everything, with Mark Walker orchestrating rhythms and grooves from the stage area on drum kit
Feedback: Mark was booked back for another event the following month, and has done several further conferences for EDF since!
